Black-Owned Vegan Restaurants & Businesses in Huntsville, AL

Let’s support Black-owned restaurants! Madison County has a lot of great Black-owned vegan friendly restaurants and if you haven’t tried them yet, you’re missing out.

Back in 1999, the first vegetarian restaurant I ever visited was Parker Burger on University Drive (later moving to Governors). The Parker family were Seventh-day Adventists who advocated vegetarianism, and eating there helped me transition to vegetarianism and, eventually, veganism.

Fast forward to today, Huntsville is blessed with many Black-owned restaurants and food businesses offering incredible vegan options. There has never been a better time to put your money where your mouth is and support them.

Here’s a guide to some of Huntsville’s Black-owned vegan and vegan-friendly businesses:

Chef Will The Palate

Chef Will is a legend in Huntsville’s vegan food scene. Cooking from a small kitchen trailer right in front of Lowe Mill ARTS & Entertainment, Chef Will creates wraps, tacos, burgers, and southern comfort dishes, all cooked to order with fresh ingredients.

He’s not just a chef but an educator, too, always ready to share wisdom about plant-based eating. His restaurant was even listed by Southern Living as one of the top five reasons to visit Huntsville!
